Itinerary of the Tangier to Merzouga Desert Tour

Day 1: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen

From your accommodation at Tangier, our Tangier to Merzouga Desert Tour across Morocco’s most unique destinations starts. First, we are going to visit the city of Tetouan, which sits at the foot of the spectacular Rif mountains. Having an Andalusian mark on its architecture, the city offers you a fascinating blend of Arabic and Spanish culture.

After a lunch break, we will cross the charming unspoiled Rif mountains to reach the gem of the north, which beautifully sits between the Rif mountains: the colored city of Chefchaouen. You will enjoy strolling around its beautiful blue and white shaded alleys to discover the best workshops of arts and crafts and end up at the unique square of Utta El hammam.

Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a traditional Riad.

    Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes

In the morning, you will get to enjoy a traditional breakfast at the Riad before resuming your trip. Our next destination is going to be a site from the 25 BC century  “Volubilis”, the roman ruins site. You will have a guided tour, and our guide will make sure to educate you more about this place because it’s worth knowing about.

Right after, not far from the site, stands our next destination. It is one of the important historical sites in the country: the old town of Moulay Driss Zerhoun where the founder of Islam in North Africa is buried. Later in the afternoon, we are going to drive to the cultural capital of Morocco the city of Fes, where you will be spending the night at a hotel at the heart of the ancient medina.
