Itinerary of the Tour from Fes to Marrakech

    Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Your driver will pick you up from your Fes Riad/hotel early morning. We’ll have an 8-hour trek through the Atlas Mountains to Tafilalet, southern Morocco’s largest oasis, comprising of several villages, palm groves, and two significant Desert cities, Erfoud and Rissani.

We will make several stops along the way, including the alpine village of Ifrane and Azrou’s cedar forest, where the monkeys may be seen. We will have lunch in Midelt and go through Ziz valley, which offers panoramic and stunning views of the palm trees and the green valley in the heart of the Desert.

Later, we’ll make our way to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Dinner and an overnight stay await you at a resort with a pool on the Erg Chebbi dune line to unwind on the first night.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga Exploration

Following breakfast at the hotel, you have several options to choose from. You may tour Merzouga’s nearby towns, such as Hassi Labied and Khamlia, which are home to black musicians. You may also take an offroad drive over Erg Chebbi’s dunes and witness nomads inhabiting tents in the Sahara. Or, in the summer, cool down in the pool or scale the dune line in front of your accommodation in Erg Chebbi.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Canyons

The camels will take you back to the hotel along the dune line after breakfast so you may take a brief shower. In order to reach the Sahara village of Rissani and its lively local market, we depart the Erg Chebbi sand dunes and take an off-road drive over the hamada (black Desert).

Following that, we go to Erfoud in the north, a region famous for its fossils, where we may stop to see a fossil workshop before moving on to the spectacular Todra Canyons, a region popular for rock climbing. Here, you can go hiking before we settle into the hotel, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 4: Todra Canyons – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

We continue our drive down the 1000 Thousand Kasbahs road, which has massive Kasbahs along the sides of the road. Some of the old fortified homes have been rebuilt, but the majority remain in ruins.

We travel via Dades Valley and up to the hilly area by an off-road track, where numerous Berber settlements and a few nomads live in tents. Before arriving at Skoura palm grove, we will be delighted by the panoramas of the beautiful rose valley. We arrive at Ouarzazate later, where we spend the night and have dinner.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakesh – High Atlas Mountains

The “Hollywood of Africa,” Ouarzazate, offers us the opportunity to see movie sets and studios after breakfast. Following that, we will visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

More than 20 movies, including “Indiana Jones,” and “Lawrence of Arabia,” have included Ait Benhaddou, a World Heritage site, as the setting. Take a walk to learn about the traditional Moroccan architecture used to construct the Kasbahs.

We carry on to Marrakesh across the Tizi n’Tichka crossing and the High Atlas Mountains. After a lunch break in the Atlas Mountains, we’ll take you to your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech to end our Tour from Fes to Marrakech.
