    Itinerary of Morocco Desert Tour from Casablanca

    Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

    On the first day of the Morocco Desert Tour from Casablanca, our official tour guide will pick you up from the airport of Casablanca and take you to the hotel where you can have dinner and stay the night.

    Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat

    After having breakfast, we will go on a tour of the economical and industrial capital of Morocco, Casablanca.  First, we will visit Hassan II mosque, which is the largest Mosque in Africa and the fifth largest mosque in the world.

    Then, we will go to the capital of Morocco, Rabat, for lunch and discover its attractions. In this contemporary city, we will first visit the Royal Palace before heading to the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, a true masterpiece where calligraphy and plaster sculpture merge to produce a stunning tomb. 

    Later, we will go to the Hassan Tower which is an incomplete minaret. We will also visit the Kasbah of Oudaya before heading back to the hotel where you will have dinner.

    Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Fes

    We will leave Rabat towards Meknes which is the sixth largest city in Morocco. We will explore the old medina of this Imperial city. Then, we will visit its other historical monuments such as Bab Mansour, a huge beautiful decorated gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who is the city’s founder, and Lhadim square.

    After lunch, we will drive to the holy town of Moulay Driss Zerhoun which holds a special place in the hearts of Moroccans. As we explore the town of Moulay Driss Zerhoun, we will head towards Volubilis which is an archeological and UNESCO world heritage.  In Volubilis, you will enjoy looking at the different remaining ruins which still tell a lot of stories about the Roman era in Morocco.

    Late in the evening, we will leave for Fes to have dinner and check into your accommodation.

    Day 4: Fes City Tour

    On this Morocco Desert Tour from Casablanca, you’ll have a tour of Fes. We’ll explore the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco, Fes. First, we will visit the old medina of Fez which is one of the oldest living Medinas in the world.

    Then, we will visit other main places in the old medina such as Al Qaraouine University, which is the first university to be built in the whole world, the mausoleum of My Idriss, and the 11th-century Chouara Tannery.

    After that, we’ll depart the ancient Medina to tour El-Mellah, or the Jewish district, and Fez Jdid, or the new Fez, before returning to the hotel.

    Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt  – Ziz valley – Rissani – Merzouga

    In the early morning, we will leave Fes towards Merzouga via Ifran, Azrou, and other Berber small towns. As we reach Ifran or the “Switzerland of Morocco”, you will have free time to enjoy its gardens and breathe some fresh air.

    Our second visit will be at Azrou’s cedar forest, where charming monkeys contribute to the beauty of the region. Later, we will head to Midelt passing through a lot of beautiful views and villages. After lunch in Midelt, we will drive through the Tizi-N-Talghemt pass, Ziz Gorge, and the tunnel of Zaabel before reaching Errachidia which is the main city in the region.

    After a brief stop in this city, we will go to Aoufous to visit one of Africa’s largest oasis. We will arrive at Merzouga late in the evening and enjoy a spectacular sunset before returning to the hotel.

    Day 6: Erg Chebbi Desert & Camp

    Let’s explore the surrounding areas of Erg Chebbi Dunes! Our first stop will be in the tents of several nomadic families, with whom we will drink a cup of tea and engage in a cultural exchange to know about their customs and beliefs.

    When we return for a second time, we’ll travel to Khamlia, which is referred to locally as the town of black immigrants from Sudan, to visit Dar Gnaoua (the home of Gnaoua) and take in their spiritual music. Following that, we will travel to a renowned lake near Merzouga to watch some Flamingo birds before heading to a desert camp/bivouac.

    Following a spectacular sunset, you will spend a memorable night filled with Berber drum music, dancing, and singing.

    Day 7: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades – Kelaa M’gouna – Ouarzazate

    Early in the morning, we will wake you up to enjoy a marvelous sunrise in the middle of the desert. Then, as you have breakfast, we will drive the camels back to the hotel to enjoy a warm shower and get prepared to travel.

    Along the way to Ouarzazate, we will stop in Todra Gorges, which are a series of high limestone river canyons. In this beautiful place, you will have free time to explore it on your own. After that, we will leave for Boulmane Dades, a small Berber village, to have lunch.

    Through Kalaat M’gouna, the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs, and Skoura, we’ll continue on our journey to the Hollywood of Africa. Late in the evening, we will be in Ouarzazate where we will have lunch and spend the night.

    Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Telouat – Tizi n Tichka – Marrakech

    After having breakfast, we will drive to explore the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. It is a fortified village and a UNESCO world heritage site you’ll visit on this Morocco Desert Tour from Casablanca. This Kasbah is well-known for being the setting for many international films such as Kingdom of Heaven, The Mummy, the Gladiator, and many others.

    Later, we will drive to Telouet where we will visit another old Kasbah known as the Kasbah of “Basha Glaoui Ethami” who was the Pasha of Marrakesh. Late in the evening, we will be in the red city, Marrakech where you will spend the night in the hotel/Riad.

    Day 9: Marrakech Tour

    After breakfast, our excursion in the red city, Marrakech, will start at the Bahia Palace, which is a palace built in the late 19th century to document the beauty of the Islamic and Moroccan styles and architecture. Our sightseeing tour in Marrakech will cover also The Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, and The Saadian Tomb.

    After having lunch, we will walk to the colorful souks (markets) of the old medina to explore their beautiful handicraft shops. In the evening, we will visit Jamaa El-Fna Square to see snake charmers, storytellers, and music performers. The night will be spent in the hotel/Riad.

    Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira

    In the early morning, we will leave Marrakech towards Essaouira. On the way, we will stop at an association that produces Argan oil. The association will warmly welcome as well as show us the process of producing Argan oil, which does not exist elsewhere except in Morocco.

    By midday, we will be in Essaouira which is famous for its fortress walls that still surround part of the city. In this Atlantic City, we will explore the old medina, have lunch in the Harbour of Scala, and visit some gates and walls that surround the city. Your night will be spent in the hotel/Riad.

    Day 11: Essaouira – Safi – Oualidia – El Jadida – Casablanca

    It is coastal cities day on our Morocco Desert Tour from Casablanca! After having breakfast, we will depart toward Casablanca via Safi, Oualidia, and El Jadida. Our first stop will be in Oualidia where we will enjoy eating fresh seafood. Then, we will head to El-Jadida to explore its old medina and most important monuments. By the evening, we will be in the commercial capital of Morocco, Casablanca, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

    Day 12: Casablanca Airport
