Itinerary of the Tour from Fes

    Day 1: Arrival

A transfer from Fes Sais airport is included on the first day of the Tour from Fes. Your first night will be spent with us, and we will have a traditional supper. You will spend the night in a local Riad in Fes.

Day 2: A guided tour of Fes

We start the second day of the Tour from Fes by exploring Fes with a local guide. We head to see the Royal Palace Gate and the well-preserved medieval Medina, both of which have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

You will go to Bab Boujloud, the entrance to the historic Medina. It appears to be a labyrinth of alleys and streets. You’ll enter the Medina to view the Madrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain, as well as the Quaraouin mosque and university, which is the world’s oldest institution.

After that, we left Medina to see the Jewish neighborhood also known as “the Mellah”. In the afternoon, we go to a medieval stronghold for a panoramic view over the Medina and the city of Fes. We’ll head back to our Riad to sleep for the night.

    Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga

After an early breakfast, you will begin your walk into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will have a quick tour of Ifrane. You’ll spend most of the day making your way through lush woodlands, jagged rock walls, and Berber towns as you cross through the Atlas Mountains and begin your descent into the Sahara Desert.

You’ll stop for lunch halfway through in Midelt, a town noted for its fossils and rocks. After a long journey, a hot shower or a dip in the pool (depending on the weather) will be a pleasant respite. We arrive in the afternoon in the Sahara desert of Merzouga where you will ride camels and travel the sandy desert to watch the sunset.

    Day 4: Merzouga

If you want to view the beautiful dawn in the middle of the desert, you must get up early in the morning. After breakfast, you ride camels back to Merzouga.

You will learn about the Merzouga region. Other spectacular features in the area include dunes, natural lakes, mines, and fossil places, as well as excellent oasis that are ideal for a range of outdoor sports.

In Merzouga, we begin our trip by driving off-road to an ancient mine. Then we go to see the nomads, who live in handmade tents. Learn about their culture while sipping Berber tea. Our next visit is the Khamlia village, where you will be treated to Gnaoua music and dancing performances.

You make your way to your desert camp. It mixes traditional nomad tents with the luxury of a hotel. While dancing around a campfire beneath a vast open sky of stars, you may listen to Berber drum music. By the end of the evening, you’ll be eating and sleeping at the camp.

Day 5: Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert to explore Rissani town, Tafilalet’s historical capital. Rissani, with its busy souk, is a vital commerce centre in the region.

We proceed to Erfoud after touring the Rissani souk and visiting one of the petrified marble factories. Then we proceed via the Touroug and Tinjdad palm orchards to the Todra Gorges. The flow of the Todra River has carved a beautiful canyon through the mountains, resulting in a towering red cliff-sided valley. Feel free to explore the gorges and admire the landscape.

Following lunch, we go to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. Stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation and a viewpoint point on a peak overlooking the Dades valley are inescapable.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we drive on to Kalaa Magouna to see the Rose Valley in this Tour from Fes. Every year in May, there is a Rose Festival when inhabitants offer rose-related things such as perfumes, rose water, and oil, as well as cosmetics.

We next go through the palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, where we visit the film studios where famous movies were filmed. We’ll have dinner and some sleep in a nice hotel in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We set out for Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. It is a fortified village that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has appeared in a number of films, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy.

Then we travel to Marrakech, passing via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. There will be stops for lunch and photograph interesting sights. Day 7 of the Tour from Fes includes an overnight stay at a Riad in Marrakech.

Day 8: A tour of Marrakech

Following breakfast, we will see Marrakech’s sights with a local guide. The city is one of four imperial cities of Morocco. The Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and a stroll through Morocco’s largest traditional souk are all included in the tour.

Lunch will be served in the Jemaa El-Fna Country Square. Later, you visit Marrakesh’s largest mosque, the Koutoubia, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, proceed to your hotel. You are free to wander through Jemaa El-Fna at your leisure.

    Day 9: Marrakech Airport

After breakfast, we’ll drop you off at Marrakech Airport to end our Tour from Fes.
