Watch the sun rise and set amidst the captivating golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara desert on our Sunrise & Sunset Camel Tour in Merzouga. In the middle of the sand dunes, we may even set up a picnic for you.
Your Sunrise & Sunset Camel Tour in Merzouga will start around 5:30 pm. As we leave the hotel, we will ride the camels for almost half an hour to reach the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once we reach the dunes, we will leave the camels and climb a high sand dune to enjoy a marvelous sunset. In case you couldn’t climb the dunes, the surrounding area of the “parking lot” is also a perfect place for watching the sunset.
After enjoying the sunset, we will head back to the village. But before, we will stop in the middle of some gardens to explain to you the system of irrigation they have implemented. As for your sunrise tour, it is going to start early in the morning and will take around 35 minutes to reach the high dune of Merzouga. This tour will include a visit to some gardens on our way back.
In case you bring a rental car, we will meet you in our hotel in Merzouga where you will have room to leave your luggage and take a shower before you head back from your desert camel trek. Or, if you come by bus, we will meet you at the bus station in Merzouga and then take you to our hotel.
From Fes: There is a daily bus leaving Fez around 20:00 at night and arriving in Merzouga around 05:00 in the morning. The bus is called (SUPRATOURS).
From Marrakech: There is a daily-day bus leaving Marrakech around 08:00 in the morning and arriving to Merzouga around 20:00 at night. The bus is called (SUPRATOURS).
