Itinerary

Day 1

Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Your driver will pick you up from your Fes riad/hotel early in the morning to start our 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. We’ll drive for about 8 hours through the Atlas Mountains to Tafilalet, Morocco’s largest oasis with villages, palm groves, and two main desert cities: Erfoud and Rissani. Along the way, we’ll stop at the alpine village of Ifrane and Azrou’s cedar forest, where you might see monkeys. We’ll have lunch in Midelt and then drive through Ziz Valley, known for its stunning views of palm trees and green valley in the desert. Later, we’ll head to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. You’ll have dinner and spend the night at a resort with a pool along the dunes.

Day 2

Erg Chebbi – Merzouga Exploration

After breakfast at the hotel, you can choose from several activities. You might visit nearby towns like Hassi Labied and Khamlia, known for their black musicians. You can also drive off-road over the Erg Chebbi dunes and see nomads living in the Sahara. In the summer, you can relax by the pool or climb the dunes near your accommodation.

Day 3

Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Canyons

After breakfast, camels will take you back to the hotel so you can freshen up. We’ll leave the Erg Chebbi dunes and drive off-road to Rissani and its local market. Then we’ll head to Erfoud, known for fossils, where we’ll visit a fossil workshop before going to the Todra Canyons, famous for rock climbing. You can hike here before we check into the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Todra Canyons – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

We’ll drive along the 1000 Kasbahs road, which is lined with large Kasbahs. Some are restored, but most are ruins. We’ll travel through Dades Valley and up an off-road track to see Berber settlements and nomad tents. Enjoy the views of the rose valley before reaching Skoura. Later, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5

Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakesh – High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, we’ll explore Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and visit movie sets and studios. We’ll then tour the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This site has been featured in movies like “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” Learn about traditional Moroccan architecture as you walk through the Kasbah. We’ll continue to Marrakech across the Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. After lunch in the mountains, we’ll take you to your riad/hotel in Marrakech, ending our 5-day tour from Fes.
