8-day Morocco tour from Fes to Merzouga Sahara desert and Ouzoud Waterfalls

Our tour guide will take you on a tour of Fes, showing you all of its spectacular landmarks. First, you will be able to see the magnificent gate of the Royal Palace. Then, continue exploring the historic Jewish headquarters, Morocco’s first. Our guide will lead you through the medieval medina to one of the world’s oldest mosques and institutions, El Quaraouine. You will visit the Attarine museum, which attracts traders from all over the world. There is a mix of Arabic and Andalusian arts and crafts there. You’ll see tanneries and a color palette where carpets are dyed and finished. Lunch will be served at an ancient medina restaurant. Then, we’ll continue our tour of Fes’ stunning architecture, seeing the Marinid tombs and enjoying a panoramic view of the medieval Fes medina. A local hotel will provide you with dinner and an overnight stay.

From Fes, we will continue our Tour from Fes to Merzouga to a wonderful location in southern Morocco. As we reach the middle Atlas Mountains, we will pass through Ifrane, a wonderful city with a unique European feel. The trip to Azrou takes us past Morocco’s largest Cedar trees, gracefully spanning the central Atlas mountains. After traversing the Tizi n’Talghamt mountain pass, we will arrive at the country’s agricultural center, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue our drive through landscapes that change from green to rocky to Errachidia, where you will be given a brief tour of this lovely city. We will arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon after driving through the magnificent Ziz Valley and the palm city of Erfoud, where you will check into a hotel near the dunes. Here you will be able to prepare for our one-of-a-kind camel journey. You will switch to camels with our professional guide, who will lead you on a one-of-a-kind trek across Erg Chebbi’s sandy dunes, under a gorgeous sunset, to immerse you in the mood of an ancient traveler. Finally, you will arrive at our traditional camp and be met with a traditional supper and a cup of tea while listening to Gnawa music. Sleep in a nomadic tent for the night.

Our guide will wake you up at the crack of dawn to witness the stunning sunrise that glistens through the dunes. You will eat a classic breakfast while the sun shines on your face and warms your skin. Following that, we’ve planned a delightful trip of Erg Chebbi’s surrounds, where you’ll encounter a variety of Berber nomad tribes that will be delighted to see you beneath the shadows of their traditional tents. You will learn more about their culture and way of life. We’ll go to Khamlia, a one-of-a-kind village where you’ll meet and listen to the music of the Gnawa tribes. Lunch will be served in a Berber guest house in the village. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the surrounding locations or villages. We’ll ride camels back to camp for dinner and sleep in the evening.

After breakfast in Khamlia hamlet, we will continue our Tour from Fes to Merzouga by visiting the magnificent city of Erfoud, where you will have a brief tour to view this pristine oasis city famed across Morocco for its high-quality dates. Following that, we will return to Morocco’s pride and a destination for hikers and climbers from all over the globe, the Todgha gorges. Here, you will have the opportunity to trek and share the mud passages with people and their packing animals. Dinner and lodging at the Todgha Hotel.

On this day’s itinerary, you will have breakfast in the picturesque neighborhood of Todgha. Then, we will hit the road, passing through the splendor of the middle Atlas mountains and several distinctive Berber settlements along the route, until we arrive at the amazing Ouzoud Waterfalls. It is a lovely sphere that draws people from all around the world, here our guide will take you on a journey closer to the waterfalls (you can swim if you want). Lunch will be provided in front of the waterfalls at a restaurant. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a nearby Riad/kasbah.

After breakfast, we’ll make our way back to Fes via the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the route, we’ll stop at Beni Mellal and Khenifra, where you’ll have lunch. You will eventually arrive in Fes, where you will spend the night in a hotel/Riad with dinner provided on the last day of the Tour from Fes to Merzouga.
