Day 1: Fes – Ilfrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga

Tour Itinerary 5 Fes to Marrakech via Desert – Merzouga Camel Trekking Erg chebbi:

Day 1 Fes – Ilfrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga

After having breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel or Riad in Fes to travel to the heart of the Moroccan southeastern desert, Merzouga. Along the way, we will stop in different cities and places to capture some of their beauty. First, we will stop in Ifran or “the Switzerland of Morocco” to explore its beautiful gardens, parks and lakes. Then, we will head to “the Cedar forest of Azrou” where we will stop to see, feed and take memorial pictures with its lovely monkeys. Following this, as we have lunch in Midelt which is 95km (58miles) away from Azrou, we will continue our way to Merzouga via Rich, Errachidia, Awfous oasis and Erfoud. By the evening, we will arrive to Merzouga where we will enjoy a fabulous sunset in the Erg Chebbi dunes before accompany you to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 2 Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi

Today’s excursion will be dedicated to explore the surrounding areas of Erg Chebbi dunes. As you have your breakfast, we will drive to KHAMLIA, which is a small village inhabited by black people coming from Sudan, to visit Dar-Gnawa (the house of Gnawa) to listen to their spiritual Music and share with them a cup of mint tea. Following this, we will visit some nomads in their tents to experience part of their daily life activities before heading to Rissani to have Medfouna, which is a traditional Berber Pizza, for lunch. After lunch, we will explore the souk of Rissani which is the biggest in the region before travelling back to Merzouga. As we reach Merzouga, we will ride the camels to sightsee a marvelous sunset over the dunes. Then, we will ride the camels again to a bivouac where we will spend the night.

Day 3 Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

After sightseeing a beautiful golden sunrise in the middle of the desert, we will ride the camels back to the hotel to have Breakfast and take a shower. As you get ready, we will leave the hotel towards Todra Gorge, which are series of limestone river canyons near the city of Tinghir, via the valleys of Tourog, Goulmima and Tinjdad. As we reach the beautiful gorges of Todra, you will have lunch in a local restaurant and free time to explore the gorges before leaving to Dades valley where we will spend the night.

Day 4 Dades Gorge – El Kelaa Magona – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will explore Dades gorges before heading towards the Hollywood of Africa, Ouarzazate. Throughout the way, we will stop in Kalaat M’gouna, the Valley of the Roses and the road of the thousand Kasbahs so as to allow you enjoy their splendor and take memorial pictures. As we reach Ouarzazate, we will explore the center of the city as well as visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas studios where many international films have been shot. Night will be spent in the hotel.

Day 5 Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech

After having breakfast, we will leave the hotel towards the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou which is a UNISCO world heritage. This fortified village is a famous Kasbah not only locally but also globally for it serves as the setting for many international films such, Gladiator, Prince of Arabia, the Mummy and so many others. As we have lunch in a close restaurant to the Kasbah, we will head to the town of Telouet to visit the Kasbah of “Basha Glaoui Ethami” who was a powerful Berber chieftain. Following this, we will drive to Marrakech through Tizi n Tichka pass. Night will be spent in the hotel/Riad.
