12 Days tour from Casablanca via Fez Marrakech and Sahara Desert

 

Day 1 : In Casablanca

In the first day of your twelve-day tour in Casablanca, Fez, the Sahara desert, Marrakech, and Essaouira, our official tour guide will pick you up from the airport of Casablanca to the hotel where you will have dinner and spend a night.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat

After having breakfast, we will go on a tour in the economical and industrial capital of Morocco, Casablanca.  First, we will visit Hassan II mosque, which is the largest Mosque in Africa and the fifth largest mosque in the world. Then, we will head to the administrative capital of Morocco, Rabat, to have lunch and explore its important monuments. In this modern city, we will head first to see the Royal palace before visiting the Mausoleum of Mohamed V which is a real masterpiece where calligraphy and sculpting in plaster blend to form a beautiful tomb.  Following this, we will visit the Hassan Tower which is an incomplete mosque and minaret. We will also visit the Kasbah of Oudaya before heading back to the hotel where you will have dinner.

Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Fez

 In this third day, we will leave Rabat towards Meknes which is the sixth largest city in Morocco. As we reach this imperial city, we will start exploring its old medina. Then, we will visit its other historical monuments such as, Bab Mansour, a hug beautiful decorated gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who is the city founder, and Lhadim square. After having lunch, we will drive to the holy town of Moulay Driss Zerhoun which holds a special place in the hearts of Moroccans. As we explore the town of Moulay Driss Zerhoun, we will head towards Volubilis that is an archeological and a UNISCO world heritage.  In Volubilis, you will enjoy looking at the different remaining ruins which still tell a lot of stories about the Romans era in Morocco. Late in the evening, we will leave to Fez to have dinner and check into your accommodation.

Day 4: Exploring Fez

 Our fourth day will be dedicated to explore the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco, Fez. First, we will visit the old medina of Fez which is one of the oldest living Medinas in the world. Then, we will visit other main places in the old medina such as, Al Qaraouine University, which is the first university to be built in the whole world, the mausoleum of Mulay Idriss, who is the city founder, and the 11th century Chouara Tannery. Following this, we will leave the old Medina to explore El-Mellah or the Jewish quarter and Fez Jdid (the new Fez) before heading back to hotel.

Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Rissani – Merzouga

 In the early morning, we will leave Fez towards Merzouga via Ifran, Azrou and other Berber small towns.  As we reach Ifran or the “Switzerland of Morocco”, you will have free time to enjoy its gardens and breathe some fresh air. Our second stop, will take place in the cedar forest of Azrou whose lovely monkeys add a touch to the beauty of the place. After that, we will head to Midelt passing through a lot of beautiful views and villages. After having lunch in Midelt, we will drive through Tizi-N-Talghemt pass, Ziz Gorge and the tunnel of Zaabel before reaching Errachidia which is the main city in the region. After a quick break in this city, we will head to Aoufous to enjoy one of the biggest oases in Africa. Late in the evening, we will be in Merzouga where we will enjoy a fabulous sunset before heading to the hotel.

Day 6: Tour around Erg Chebbi Desert and Camp; Camel Trekking

Today’s tour will be dedicated to explore the surrounding areas of Erg Chebbi Dunes. Our first visit, will take place in the tents of some nomad families with whom we will share a cup of tea and engage in a cultural conversation to learn about their traditions and customs. As for our second visit, we will head to Khamlia, which is regionally known as the town of black people coming from Sudan, to visit Dar Gnaoua (the house of Gnaoua) to enjoy their spiritual music. Following this, we will drive to a famous lake near Merzouga to see some Flamingo birds before heading to a camp/bivouac in the middle of the desert. After enjoying a fabulous sunset, you will spend an unforgettable night full of Berber drums music, dancing, and singing.

Day 7: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Boumalne Dades -Kelaât M’Gouna – Ouarzazate

Early in the morning, we will wake you up to enjoy a marvelous sunrise in the middle of the desert. Then, as you have breakfast, we will drive the camels back to the hotel to enjoy a warm shower and get prepared to travel. Along the way to Ouarzazate, we will stop in Todra Gorges, which are a series of high limestone river canyons. In this beautiful place, you will have free time to explore it on your own. After that, we will leave to Boulmane Dades, a small Berber village, to have lunch. Our way to the Hollywood of Africa, will continue vie Kalaat M’gouna, the valley of thousand Kasbahs and Skoura. Late in the evening, we will be in Ouarzazate where we will have lunch and spend the night.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Telouet – Tizi- N-Tichka Pass – Marrakech

After having breakfast, we will drive to explore the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and a UNISCO world heritage site. This Kasbah is well-known for being the setting for many international films such as, Kingdom of Heaven, The Mummy, the Gladiator and many others. As we explored the Kasbah, we will drive to Telouet where we will visit another old Kasbah known as the Kasbah of “Basha Glaoui Ethami” who was the Pasha of Marrakesh. Late in the evening, we will be in the red city, Marrakech where you will spend the night in the hotel/riad.

Day 9: Exploring Marrakech

 After breakfast, our excursion in the red city, Marrakech, will start from the Bahia Palace, which is a palace built in the late 19th century to document the beauty of the Islamic and Moroccan style and architecture. Our sightseeing tour in Marrakech will cover also The Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower and The Saadian Tomb. After having lunch, we will walk to the colorful souks (markets) of the old medina to explore their beautiful handicrafts shops. In the evening, we will visit Jamaa El-Fna Square to see snake charmers, story tellers, and music performers. Night will be spent in the hotel/Riad.

Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira

 In the early morning, we will leave Marrakech towards Essaouira. On the way, we will stop at an association that produces Argan oil.  The association will warmly welcome as well as show us the process of producing the Argan oil, which does not exist elsewhere except Morocco. By midday, we will be in Essaouira which is famous with its fortress walls that still surround part of the city. In this Atlantic City, we will explore its old medina, have lunch in the Harbour of Scala, and visit the some gates and walls that surround the city. Night will be spent in the hotel/Riad.

Day 11: Essaouira – Safi – Oualidia – El Jadida – Casablanca

After having breakfast, we will depart toward Casablanca via Safi, Oualidia and El Jadida. Our first stop will be in Oualidia where we will enjoy eating fresh fish. Then, we will head to El-Jadida to explore its old medina and most important monuments. By the evening, we will be in the commercial capital of Morocco, Casablanca, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 12: Casablanca – Airport Med V

 As the last day of your twelve-day tour in Morocco, we will accompany you to the airport and that according to your flight departure..
