8 Days tour from Marrakech - South and Sahara desert of Merzouga

After breakfast, our guide will take you on a memorable tour around the city of Marrakech. We’ll start with the old Market where you will be surprised by the number of traditional arts and crafts that have to offer. Then, you will visit the well-decorated Bahia palace, a great example of the Moroccan Riad with its unique architecture. Afterward, you are going to enjoy walking around the Majorelle gardens and escaping the sun for a while. Lunch will be in a restaurant where you will enjoy a special Marrakchi dish called “Tanjiya”. After, you will visit the marvelous mosque of El Koutoubia, the oldest in Marrakech. Then, not far from the mosque, you will visit the Minara gardens. We will move towards the historical Saadian tombs; eventually, concluding the tour in front of the charming square of “Jamaa Lefna”, with its unique ambiance. Dinner and an overnight stay await you at the Riad/hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our trip south of Morocco towards the beautiful Dades gorges, passing by the “ Hollywood of Africa” the city of Ouarzazate, where you will enjoy a traditional lunch at a restaurant. Afterward, we will drive through the road of the thousand Kasbahs, passing by many Berber villages and nomad families along the road. We reach the Dades gorges where you will be spending the night at a local hotel with dinner included.

You will discover the beautiful town of Boumalne Dades and the Dades gorges and their beautiful landscapes. Afterward, we will resume our trip towards the charming Merzouga via Tinghir where you are going to visit one of the most spectacular canyons around the world where you will enjoy a traditional lunch at a mountainside restaurant. Thereupon, we will continue passing by Erfoud, towards the beautiful small town of Rissani where the founder of the Alaouite dynasty “Moulay Ali Cherif” is. Eventually, when arrived at Merzouga, we will switch to camels with our professional guide, that will take you through the golden sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi, in a memorable experience of an ancient traveler, under a romantic sunset. We reach finally our traditional camp where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay under the milky way.

Early in the morning, our guide will wake you up so you can witness nature’s miracle “the sunrise of Merzouga”. Then, you will enjoy breakfast while the sun warms your skin. After breakfast, we will leave Zagora towards the city of Ouarzazate via the small town of Agdz. Crossing the magnificent Draa valley where you will have a break, enjoy a carpet of oases lined along the beautiful Draa river. Afterward, we will visit a special destination, standing majestically in the middle of the south over centuries, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. It is a striking example of the southern architecture back then. It is a UNESCO world heritage site that was a seat for one of the most powerful men in the 17th century the Pacha El Glaoui. After a guided tour, you will enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the area. Eventually, we’ll get back to Ouarzazate where you will spend the night at a hotel with dinner included.

In the morning, you will enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Then, we will take you on a tour around the famous film studios “Atlas studios” where you will get to explore the infinite sets from all over the world and centuries. Then, we will head over to the little sister of the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the Kasbah of Taourirt. Late in the afternoon, we will arrive at the red city of Marrakech. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at the riad/hotel.
