6-Day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert via Zagora

One of the largest film studios in the world, Atlas Studios, will be the subject of our tour guide’s commentary as you enjoy moving between sets. You will tour areas where popular television episodes and films, such as “Game of Thrones,” have been filmed. We’ll go to Zagora through Draa Valley, passing through endless palm groves and little Berber communities along the way. When you arrive, you will be fed a traditional dish at a restaurant. Following that, we will transport you to Tamagroute, where you will discover Morocco’s oldest Quranic library and the Kasbah underground. You will learn more about the local pottery industry. We’ll get back to Zagora where you will spend the night at a hotel with dinner included.

After breakfast, we will go to Merzouga, passing by some spectacular southern Berber settlements such as Taftechna and Ait Ouaazique on our way to the famous Tazarine and Alnif, where you will enjoy seeing an underground jail that has been turned into a museum. After lunch, we’ll go to Merzouga through the little oasis village of Rissani. When you arrive, you will be greeted by camels who will take you on a spectacular experience across Erg Chebbi’s beautiful sandy dunes. You will love watching the sunset atop North Africa’s tallest dune. We will eventually arrive at our regular well-equipped camp. A Berber music presentation will delight you before you have a delicious local supper around the campfire. Stay overnight in a nomadic camel hair tent under the milky way.

You’ll wake up early in the morning to one of the most beautiful sunrises you’ve ever seen. You will have your breakfast in the center of the beautiful Erg Chebbi Sahara, while the sun warms your skin. We’ll ride our camels back to Merzouga, where we’ll swap back to our 4×4 and head to Erfoud, also known as the Palm’s city in Morocco. You will get the opportunity to go through the magnificent Touroug and Tinijdad palm plantations. We will arrive in the Todgha gorges after lunch, where you will enjoy a delicious meal in the hotel where you will be staying.

You will visit Todgha, one of the most magnificent canyons in the world, with its red limestone cliffs attracting climbers from all over the world. We will next proceed to the breathtaking Dades gorges area, where you will have lunch. The drive will next take you to Kalaat M’gouna, also known as the Roses City, where you will stop to appreciate a carpet of pink and crimson roses. Then, via Skoura, we’ll arrive at the famed Kasbah of Amredhil, which was featured on the back of the Moroccan 50 Dh bill; here, you’ll be given a guided tour of the masterpiece. Following that, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will have supper and a hotel overnight.

After breakfast, we will go to the red city of Marrakech, passing through the lovely landscapes of the south and traversing the high Atlas mountains. When you arrive in Marrakech late in the afternoon, we will bring you to your hotel, where our services will cease.
